Lunch
We are very pleased to be able to offer hot meals for all children. Meals are prepared and cooked on site by our lovely Colby Kitchen Cooks Megan and Vikki, who work hard to ensure our meals are nutritious and delicious!

Megan and Vikki cater for special dietary requirements and involves parents and children with menu choices. Vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options are available for all meals.

Free school meals
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

The guaranteed element of Pension Credit

Child Tax Credit

Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Universal Credit
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:

younger than the compulsory age for starting school

in full-time education
If your child is eligible for free school meals, they’ll remain eligible until they finish the phase of schooling (primary or secondary).

Infant free school meals in England
Your child will be able to get free school meals if they are in a government-funded school and in:

Reception class
-
Year 1
-
Year 2
Tell your local authority if you also get any of the qualifying benefits. Your child’s school can get extra funding if you do.
More information
Children in Reception and Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals (Universal Free School Meals).
Children in Key Stage 2 can choose to order meals for £2.40 per day.

Sample menu
Monday: Cheese, vegetable and ham pasta bake in a white sauce, served with peas and sweetcorn. Fruit.​

Tuesday: Mince and vegetable chilli, served in a jacket potato with cheese, carrots and green beans. Fruit.

Wednesday: BBQ chicken in a whole meal wrap, served with vegetable cous-cous. Yoghurt and fruit.

Thursday: Meat balls in a tomato and vegetable sauce, served in a sub bread roll, served with salad.

Friday: Fish fingers and potato wedges, served with carrots and sweetcorn. Yoghurt and fruit.
