Friends of
Colby School

Friends of Colby School, or FOCS, is the PTA for Colby Primary School and is a registered charity and a member of PTA-UK. FOCS aims to promote and develop close co-operation and communication between parents and staff and others associated with the school. The PTA engages in activities which support the school and advances the education and well-being of its pupils. Through its fundraising events and initiatives, FOCS provides funds for a wide variety of projects, equipment and experiences that benefit the education and welfare of the children and helps to build the community of the school.

FOCS Committee

The FOCS committee is made up of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Parent Liaison officer, along with a pool of regular volunteers.

The PTA holds regular, informal meetings either at school or in a local pub, where everyone is welcome to come along and hear about its fundraising ideas and events. Parents and carers are kept informed by email, the school newsletter and its Facebook page. FOCS is a great way to get involved with the school, get to know other parents, grandparents and carers, and make a real contribution to the school life of the children.

Get involved

None of the PTA events would be possible without the help and support of mums, dads, grandparents and wider family and friends, and we are always looking for more people to help in any way they can. Whether you would like to volunteer to help out at an event, make a cake, help at one of our ‘Do It Together’ days, or whether you have particular contacts or skills that could be utilised by FOCS, we would love to hear from you. You can contact us through the school office, find one of us in the playground, or message us through our Facebook page.
